My Practice Philosophy
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” -Nelson Mandela
My practice philosophy emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and humility. I believe that individuals should learn to embrace both their positive and negative qualities with compassion and curiosity. The lack of clarity surrounding these concepts and unclear boundaries can lead to problems such as anxiety, depression, addiction, procrastination, and unbalanced relationships. Weak or porous boundaries can lead to toxic relationships, codependency, burnout, and resentment. To gain a deeper understanding of one's needs, it is important to attune to the body's experience.
I believe that the body and mind are interconnected and that we are spiritual beings living in this reality. My focus is on developing awareness and understanding the self, as it is the most authentic representation of one's world. I believe that everyone knows their truth, and my role is to assist you in finding it, so that you may embrace love and freedom, with clarity, balance, and authenticity."
My Style
I encourage the practice of mindfulness and meditation in your life. My therapeutic approach aims to help individuals confront their unconscious fears and create space for acceptance and understanding, allowing their truest self to flourish. I believe in challenging ourselves and will challenge you to empower you to express yourself and assert your needs and boundaries. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to your specific needs by interweaving various disciplines. I have a motivational interviewing approach. I may use solution-focused methods and mindfulness-based CBT or DBT to establish tools and algorithms. At other times, I may use integrative somatic experiencing and emotion-based therapy, as well as the Internal Family Systems modality. These techniques help us explore your world and identify unconscious limiting beliefs that may interfere with your true nature.
